Hopefully this latest post finds everyone recovering from the craziness that is the Christmas holiday and preparing for the New Year. I know for me that the few days leading up to Christmas are some of the busiest of the year and the days after are full of rest and relaxation.
We took some time on the last post to discuss all the fun things there are to do in the Eastern Panhandle around the holidays so I think we will get back into the swing of things and discuss a very important step in your move: finding a realtor.
I think that finding a realtor you trust, communicate well with, and enjoy their company is the most important part of finding a new home and selling your current home. Realtors are the people who are going to advise you throughout the process and finding one that fits your personality is key.
You can start your search by asking friends, neighbors, and co-workers for recommendations. You can also do a google search for realtors in your area. Make sure you read the reviews that are listed, as this will give you a good starting point. After you have narrowed down your search to a handful I suggest calling and setting up appointments to meet them. Reviews can only tell you so much about a person and you really need to get a feel of their personality.
Take the time before your meeting to make a list of questions that are important to you in your home search. These can include; how long has the realtor been in the business in the area, how many homes have the helped buy and sell, are the apart of a team etc. Everyones expectations in a realtor will vary and its important that you find a realtor that will meet your needs.
While this blog isn’t intended to promote the Larry DeMarco Team any of the 6 agents on our team would be happy to discuss your real estate needs.
